"On November 19, 2003 there was a benefit auction at Christie's in New York for the Tibet House NY. It was hosted by Uma Thurman, David Bowie, Iman, Christine Turlington, Edward Burns, and the yoga gurus, Sharon Gannon and David Life. The partial profit would be donated to the Tibetan chidren's village in Dharamsala, India. Many celebrities such as Donna Karan, Robert DeNiro donated their goods for the auction. I donated my "free-Tibet-Totebag" and it was bid at a very good price! Todd English from Olive was in charge of the catering. It was a fabulous night with lots of champainge, the riches and famous. I am so glad that I was able to contribute something for the Tibetan kids in exile.

I visited Bali, Indonesia in May. One day I went to the market in Ubud, the mountain village of arts. My Balinese guide told me, " You must negotiate the price when you shop!" So I tried. It took me a half hour every time I bought something, and it was exhausting! However, it is a un memory now.

I enjoyed the ketchuk dance which is a traditional Balinese ritual dance. Although what I saw was a commercial one for the tourists the eal ketchuk is sacred to worship the divine.

On Jan.22 I had the event on "meditation" at the Tea House Gallery of the NY Open Center.

My guest speakers this year were Sharon Gannon from Jivamukti Yoga Center, Pablo Rosenblueth and Lama Pema Dorjee from the Nechung Monastery. After my opening speech these guests expressed "meditation" in their own unique ways.
Also, I had seven guest artists to show their art for "meditation" on the second floor. (With Kristen Sard, Caroline Finnegan, Emre Erturk, Anastasia Vasilakis, Mimi Wlordachyk, Sonam Zoksang and Jeremy Hurley.) My friend Jane from Vanity Fair made these "Chakra Cookies" (this was my idea!) and they were awesome! Also, Brigitte from Reve de Soie decorated the stage with her beautiful Thai silk panel with the Buddhist prayer.

After the event I had a book signing for my "Simple Meditation for Creative People" and Lama Pema gave a meditation teaching on the second floor. We had about 400 people came this year and everyone seemed to enjoy the meditative experience, and I was so happy to see them with smile on their faces! That was the best part of the whole event.

I contributed three new drawings for Vogue Nippon, Feb. issue (will come out on the X'mas Day) for the special feature on healing. My interview will be also part of it.
